The Contactually Android app is designed to ensure that you can maintain a full contact history for all of your contacts by syncing your text messages and call logs to the contact in Contactually. Regardless of how you follow up (email, text, or call), if you have the mobile app installed, you will see the full history of your interactions on the contact record in Contactually and your follow-up reminders will be generated based on your actual last contact. You will not need to log these activities manually.
To further protect your privacy, syncing is "Off" by default, and you can turn it on through the Settings panel in the app.
In addition to logging these critical contact touchpoints, the app also allows you access to your contacts, including the ability to update or add new contacts and add Tasks, Notes, or Interactions; as well as access to your current Dashboard of reminders and tasks that are due.
You can download the Android app here. The app is supported on both smartphones and Android-operated tablets.

- View, edit and add contacts
- Sync contacts from your phone

Note:
- Automatically log inbound and outbound text messages and phone calls are no longer possible as of February 4, 2019. This is a result of a Google change in policy and concerns should be directed to Google. Google has initiated Project Strobe with a spotlight on user privacy, but, as we see here, there is collateral damage where valuable functionality that users want cannot be fulfilled.
- Text and Calls need to be added as an Interaction
Login
You have two options to sign in to your Contactually account: You can either use your Gmail (use your Gmail password) or Contactually account (use the same login email and password you use via the web app) to log in.
Signing in using your Gmail account will open your web browser. After signing in to your Gmail account, you'll be taken back to your Contactually app and see your Dashboard.
Dashboard
The Dashboard on the Android app works similarly to the Dashboard on the web app. The primary purpose is to allow you to easily complete Follow-Ups and Tasks and log Interactions while on the go.
When you open your Dashboard, you'll see all your Follow-Ups and Tasks for that day.
The 'swipe right' gesture on a Task marks that task as complete. Tasks can also be marked as completed by ticking the checkbox on the Task.
The 'swipe left' gesture on a Task allows you to edit the Task. You can adjust the Task details, its due date, and the contact to whom it's assigned.
Follow-Ups
You can send an email, send a text message, or make a phone call. All three options automatically log on the contact record and reset the reminder period for the contact.
You have the option to use a Template when sending a text message or email. Bolded and colored text automatically convert to plain text.
Tapping Preview Message opens up the message and allows you to make edits before sending. Contactually will automatically populate any contact fields you have in the Template, such as the first name, before sending the message. Be sure to double check your Template for bracketed items indicating you need to manually personalize the message (for example, "Are you free on [DAY] to meet up?"). Replace the bracketed items with the appropriate details before you send your message.
The 'left swipe' gesture on a Follow-Up allows you to snooze the Follow-Up for one day, seven days, 14 days, 30 days, or until a specific date.
The 'right swipe' gesture on a Follow-Up allows you to manually log an Interaction with that contact. You can log the type of interaction you had, when the interaction occurred, and any notes about that interaction.
Other Follow-Up options
The small gray + icon at the top right of each Dashboard Follow-Up allows you to set a future Task or log a Note or Interaction for the contact.
Contacts
You can easily add and search for your contacts in the Contacts section of the app
Adding a contact
Tapping the orange Quick Add icon (+) allows you to create a new contact. The only information you don't have the ability to enter via the mobile app are Custom Fields and Tag(s). When first adding a new a contact, you won't be able to add it into a specific Bucket, but after the contact has been added, you can search for it in the app and tap Unbucketed to add it to a Bucket. You can also add a Note after the contact has been added.
Contact record
At the top of the contact record are three options for messaging that specific contact: Email, text message, and phone call. All three options will appear unless you don't have that specific type of contact information for that contact (for example, the phone and text options will not appear if you don't have the contact's phone number).
There are four tabs on the contact record. Under the Information tab, you'll find the same general information you have on the contact record in the web app.
- Tapping the contact's physical address opens your phone's default map application and locates the address
- Tapping the contact's email address allows you to send the contact an email. Bolded and colored text automatically convert to plain text
- Tapping the text message icon allows you to send an SMS text to the contact
- Tapping the contact's phone number allows you to call the contact
- Tapping Unbucketed or Edit Buckets allows you to add and remove the contact from Buckets
Under the Activity tab, you'll find the full log of all Follow-Ups and Interactions you've had with that contact.
Under the Notes tab, you'll find all the Notes you've logged for that contact.
Under the Tasks tab, you'll find all your completed Tasks for that contact as well as future Tasks you have scheduled for that contact.
Custom Fields are not available in the app.

FAQs
I deleted a contact, but my phone synced it back into Contactually. How can I prevent this from happening?
When your phone syncs with Contactually, each sync is considered a new import, so the system thinks that you are trying to add back all the contacts you deleted. Instead of deleting contacts, archive them. Archived contacts will resync each time your phone syncs, but their status won't change; they'll remain archived (i.e. out of sight and out of your way).
