If you are not using an email hosted by Google, Office365, or Hosted Exchange, choose the IMAP setting to connect your email address.
Some email providers, such as Yahoo and AOL, can be either IMAP or POP, so it's important to open your email's settings and check which type of mail server your email uses. If you find you're using a POP mail server, often your email can be be switched from POP to IMAP via the settings in your phone or desktop email application. Click here for a list of instructions based on your email provider and email application. Contactually does not support POP email connections.
How to connect an IMAP email to Contactually
Go to Settings and then Email Accounts on the left hand side.
Under "Connect Your Email Account", click IMAP.
At this point you will be redirected to a form on nylas.com to enter your email address. Nylas is the Contactually partner that assists in connecting your account.
Enter your email.
In many cases, we can auto-detect your email server's settings—enter your password on the next step and you'll be done. When we can't detect your email server's settings, follow these next steps:
Select "Other" when prompted to choose your email provider:
Enter your IMAP (incoming) and SMTP (outgoing) server settings. The default ports are recommended to support secure connections, but you may change them as needed to support your email provider. Where can you find this information? You can ask your email administrator, or check your email settings on a phone or computer where this account is already set up to receive and send mail.
If you purchased your email domain from a third party provider, run an internet search to find your incoming and outgoing server and port settings. For example, if you purchased your email from GoDaddy, search for "GoDaddy IMAP settings". You can also see below for some common server settings.
Once you have connected your account, you will be redirected back to Contactually's email settings page, with a confirmation at the top of the screen:
