Overview of Email Templates (how to)

Send the perfect message

Crafting the perfect email takes time. If you rush through it, your message can come across as canned and generalized, adding no value for your end recipient. Use a Template to craft an effective message you can use over and over. Insert dynamic fields to autofill personal details, such as the recipient's name and the last time you spoke.

Easily create Templates for any event and save time when following up. Quickly select your prewritten content and be confident that your message fits the occasion. Edit a few details or simply use dynamic fields to automatically customize the message, and move on to the next task on your list knowing you've followed up while maintaining your personal touch.


How to set up Templates
 
1. Click the Templates tab at the top of your Contactually account.

Click Create Email Template at the top right.

 
 



3. Choose "Message Template" for the Template type.
 

                 

4. Compose your message.

You can add dynamic fields to personalize emails automatically. Dynamic fields fetch specific contact data for your recipients, such as first name and company name.


                 

                               

 
Dynamic fields work both in the body of the email and the subject line. To use a dynamic field in the subject line, use it first within the body of the email. Then copy and paste the formula into the subject line. You can then delete it from the body of the email if you don't want to use the dynamic field there.
                                     
You can attach files by clicking the "+ Add attachment" button below the body of the message. A pop-up window will appear.


               



You can insert images by clicking the image icon.

 
               
     
You can change the message body to HTML by clicking the icon that looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner. If you want to use HTML for only one part of the email (for example, you're pasting in a signature you had professional created), wait until you're finished writing the email before you change to HTML. You can revert back to rich text by clicking the same icon again.


               


Below the body of the email, tick the check box to include your signature.
 

              
 

 
4. Click Save when you finish creating your Template.
