The right message at the right moment

After years of relationship marketing, you've learned the best ways to communicate and what message it takes to make an impact. Edit Templates from Contactually's Global Library or edit your own Templates so they use the language, tone, and messaging you know is effective for your clients and network.

How to edit Templates

To edit a Template in your account, click on the Templates tab. Select the Template you want to edit.

A small editing window will pop up.

Subject is the default subject when you use the Template. To use a dynamic field in the subject line, use it first within the body of the email. Then copy and paste the formula into the subject line. You can then delete it from the body of the email if you don't want to use the dynamic field there.

The Message Body holds the Template's message.

"Add contact fields" allows you to add a formula that autofills information such as the contact's first and last name. Custom fields are also under "Add contact fields."

"Add personal fields" allows you to add a formula that autofills information such as your first name and information from custom fields.

Include Default Signature, when checked, includes your default signature at the bottom of the message. To edit your signature, go to your Contactually Settings, click the Email tab at the top left, and scroll down.

+Add Attachment allows you to attach files up to 10MB in size to the Template.

When finished editing the Template, click the blue Save button.

FAQs

Are custom fields dynamic fields in Templates?

Yes. Custom fields are available under "Add contact fields" and will autofill the information from the contact's profile. Similar to other dynamic fields, the information will only autofill if the contact's profile includes it. To add information into custom fields for a contact, edit the contact's profile.

Custom fields must have been created before the Template was edited in order to display as options under "Add contact fields."

Is it possible to use a dynamic field in the subject line?

Yes. To use a dynamic field in the subject line, use it first within the body of the email. Then copy and paste the formula into the subject line. You can then delete it from the body of the email if you don't want to use the dynamic field there.
