Replying to emails and ScaleMails

You can respond to both individual Follow-Ups and unanswered ScaleMail via Contactually, allowing you to continue the message thread and still take advantage of tracking options.
 

How to respond to ScaleMails

1. On the Messages page, click ScaleMails on the left hand side.

2. Find the ScaleMail you want to follow up on and click it.

3. Click the red arrow to the right of the email you want to respond to. Your original message will be included just as it would be when replying to an email in your inbox.





Alternatively, tick the checkboxes of multiple emails within the ScaleMail and click ScaleMail on the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. This will create a new ScaleMail to the recipients you selected. Your original message will not be included.


How to respond to individual emails


Via the Follow-Up modal

1. Click the Follow Up button on the Dashboard Follow-Up Reminder or to the right of the contact's name on the contact's profile.

2. Once the Follow-Up modal opens, you'll see previous emails on the right side under Activity Feed.

lick the arrow to the right of the email you want to respond to.






On the Messages page

Go to the Messages page to view messages sent from Contactually. Click Individual Messages on the left hand side. If you want to narrow down to messages that meet certain criteria (sent before a specific date, opened or not opened, clicked or not clicked, answered or not unanswered), use the options under Filters on the left hand side.





Then find the message you want to respond to. On the far right, click the red arrow. A Follow-Up modal will open and allow you to reply to the message.






Awaiting Your Reply filter

Your inbox gets crowded quickly, and it's easy to forget to reply to important messages. The Awaiting Your Reply filter on the Messages page shows you email conversations you initiated with outstanding messages waiting on your response. Click the red arrow to the far right of a message to reply.


 
FAQs

What is the difference between reply tracking, the option to be notified if there's no reply after a certain number of days, the email I receive letting me know my messages haven't been answered, and the Awaiting Your Reply filter on the Messages page?

 
Reply tracking (the green arrow in the tracking options for your Follow-Up message) tracks if an email you've sent has been responded to. The option to be notified if there's no reply issues a Dashboard Task after the number of days you've specified and details that the message hasn't yet receive a response.

The email you receive from Contactually showing unanswered messages reminds you that you haven't received a reply to those messages. The email does not take into account whether or not you've activated reply tracking or opted in to be notified if there's no reply after a certain number of days. In other words, you receive the email regardless of other email tracking options you have (or haven't) enabled.

The Awaiting Your Reply filter on the Messages page shows you emails you've received and haven't responded to yet. The emails shown are from conversations you initiated from Contactually. Junk mail, emails from conversations you did not initiate (i.e. you did not send the first email in the conversation), and emails from conversations you initiated from your inbox (i.e. outside of Contactually) are not shown.
